Two Years of the Prabowo-Gibran Government: NasDem Says ‘Don’t Grow Tired of Listening to the People’s Grievances’

The administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka marks its second anniversary today. NasDem Secretary-General Hermawi Taslim hopes that the programmes and achievements made so far will continue to be improved.

“All priority programmes must be improved,” said Hermawi when contacted on Tuesday (20 October 2026).

Hermawi also hopes the government will continue to keep its eyes and ears open to issues on the ground so that these can form the basis for evaluating policies. He urged the government not to grow weary of listening to the people’s grievances.

“In future, the government must listen even more attentively and continue to hear the people’s aspirations and incorporate them into its programmes. Moving forward, the government must be increasingly responsive to the people’s aspirations and never tire of listening to their grievances,” he said.

Hermawi noted that the past two years have not been an easy journey. In his view, it is not easy to lead the public in an era of social media freedom.

“The two-year tenure of President PS (Prabowo Subianto) has certainly not been an easy or straightforward journey; it is no easy task to lead a population of over two hundred million in an era of almost limitless social media freedom,” he said.

Hermawi hopes that Prabowo can continue to be firm in exercising his leadership. He also hopes the President will be selective in choosing aides who are genuinely committed to the people’s welfare.

“Moving forward, President Prabowo Subianto must remain strong, healthy and firm in his leadership, particularly when selecting aides who are genuinely committed to the people’s welfare,” he said.
