The Minister of Agriculture (Mendan) Andi Amran Solomon revealed that there are other countries asking for rice imports from RI.
The demand came after Indonesia began opening the rice export market even though Amran had not revealed the country.
"There's another export request to one of the countries, just wait for tomorrow or the next. Yesterday on the phone one of the countries asked for rice," Amran says in a press conference at the Ministry, South Jakarta, Monday (19 / 10).
However, Amran hasn't mentioned a new country asking for the import of the rice and the quantity of the rice demanded. The government will still announce that request in the near future.
It says the government not only pursued the rice self-sufficiency, it also built food ecosystems that connect farmers to industrial and market needs.
One of them via a corn-harvesting scheme by a rancher, while overproduction can be funneled to the Bulog Perum through the storage system.
The government is also discussing the development of factories to absorb the production of chicken eggs. Moreover, the Stabilization Supply and Food Price program (SPHP) corn through Bulog is prepared to support feed needs. Amran asked Bulog to accelerate his distribution.
On the other hand, Amran claims trade performance in the agricultural sector shows an improvement. He called farm export value 2025 to Rp166 trillion, while importing Rp41 trillion.
"Export us up 2025 that's Rp166 trillion, import us down Rp41 trillion. Rp208 additional trillion values with policies - agricultural sector policies," in effect.
Amran also calls Farmers' 'exchange rate 131, claimed to be the highest number in history.
He hooked up with a 20 percent reduction in fertilizer prices and the increase in government purchases paid Rp6500 per kilogram.
Before, Indonesia agreed to export 1,000 tons of commercial premium rice to Malaysia through a co-operation with the Bulog company from Malaysia, Padi and the Borneo Beras Sdn Bhd.
The shipment is scheduled to take place gradually to meet the needs of the rice in Sarkru which is estimated to reach 200,000 tons per year.
The government also proposed a minimum export of 10,000 tons of rice to Singapore.
Meanwhile, the shipping plan 2,280 tons of rice for the need of Indonesian pilgrim consumption in Saudi Arabia in 2026 was able to await the safety of a number of related agencies in the midst of the geopolitical dynamics of the Middle East.
