Bahlil: Golkar was not born only to make Ketum President or Vice President · Global Voices

The chairman of the Golkar Bahlil Party confirmed that the party was not just born to make it president or vice president. He said Golkar was born to realize the ideals of the country.

"The Golkar Party was born not only in the interest of making the general president the vice president. But this Golkar Party was born to become a state's political instrument in performing the country's ideals," said Bahlil at the Golkar Party DPP, West Jakarta, Tuesday (20 / 10 / 2026). Bahlil was asked about Golkar's kans accompanying Prabowo Subianto in 2029.

The country's ideals are intended for justice and well-being for society. Bahlil referred to it as part of Golkar's doctrine.

"For what? Social justice for all of Indonesia, welfare, education, and all kinds of stuff. That's my point. What is the purpose of the Golkar Party? Yes raise the chair. That's the doctrine," Says it.

Bahlil says since the 1971 elections, there has never been a Golkar general president. There's only Soedharmono who became Vice President when he was first chief general of Golkar.

"Elections in '71, never had a general president. And the only general chairman of the Golkar Party who was president of the former vice president was Mr. Sudarmono," called it.

Bahlil says Golkar was set up to be the equator. Then there was reform in the 1999 elections.

"The Golkar party that was before we were born, was set up to be the equator of the political party actually was. But the 99 reform elections must be a political party, but the doctrine, the goal is not to change, it's to be a political welfare," its end.
