Minister of the Interior (Home Minister) Muhammad Tito Karnavian stated that the attempt to handle forest fires and land (carhutla) was constantly optimized, including repressing those who proved to be unlawful offenses.

It was delivered by Tito to a meeting with the Minister on Monday (19 / 10) in the Ministry of Coordinators.

"We're both doing control, this forest fire and land mimigation, so that it doesn't affect worse by any means, including that if there were corporations involved, the Indonesian government would not hesitate to insist," said Tito.

He admitted, one of the challenges in handling the carhutla is the blackout on the land of greed that requires great amounts of water. These conditions make the blackout harder, especially when water sources are limited.
