The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Comdicular) reviewed the minister's rules of decoding Al's content to deal with the risk of manipulating information of videos, images, and artificially artificial sounds which are increasingly indistinguishable from original content.

This rule will most likely require a label or a sign on the content of AI to help society distinguish and explore digital content histories.

Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Nezar Patria, at the Indonesia 2026 PR convention in Surakarta, explained that AI's development has enabled the creation of synthetic content to resemble reality.

According to him, AI's ability to produce videos, images, and even more realistic sounds increases the risk of technology abuse for fraud and manipulation of information.

He took on a case of fraud through a virtual meeting in Hong Kong about two years ago that led to a company loss of US $25 million.

In that case, a financial staff made 15 transfers after receiving instructions through an online meeting featuring the company's head ranks which turned out to be digital engineering.

To deal with that threat, Nezar said a number of global technology companies began developing an authentic mechanism and digital content search through metadata.

A similar move is being done by the government in the drafting of AI content policy.

"In Indonesia, the Komdigi is working on it to make a minister's rule that any Al development companies can label the authoritability of the authenticity of made video products or the digital media products that are produced," Nezar said.

In addition, the government has also prepared security measures through the drafting of the National Street Map Artificial Intelligence period 2026-2029 involving over 400 institutions, communities, ministries, and industrial elements.

Nezar assesses the strengthening of the AI management needs to follow the increased skills and role of society and organizations in using technology responsibly and in judging information truth.
