CT ARSA Foundation and Islamic Relief Bring Joy to Orphaned Children

A total of 30 orphans under the care of the organisation in Jakarta took part in the ‘Sight to Remember’ event, a collaborative programme between Islamic Relief Indonesia and the CT ARSA Foundation that offered them the chance to shop, play and learn in a fun atmosphere.

Happiness comes through simple yet meaningful experiences. This one-day event was not merely a recreational outing, but was also designed to support the children’s growth and development through positive experiences that foster self-confidence, independence, creativity and a passion for learning.

During the event, the children had the opportunity to choose and purchase personal items, take part in various educational games, and engage in interactive learning activities.

Through this series of activities, they were encouraged to recognise their own needs, learn to make decisions, and develop social skills through interaction within a positive and supportive environment.

The experience of shopping independently, for example, is a key moment for children to learn to make choices and understand their needs. It is hoped that these simple experiences will help them develop independence whilst boosting their self-confidence.

Rahadiansyah Fachrudin, Local Resource Mobilisation Coordinator at Islamic Relief Indonesia, said that the ‘Sight to Remember’ programme forms part of Islamic Relief Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the fulfilment of the rights of orphans and vulnerable children through a needs-centred approach.

“Through the ‘Sight to Remember’ programme, we aim to provide an experience that is not only enjoyable but also meaningful for the children. We hope this programme will create positive memories, boost their self-confidence, and demonstrate that they are receiving care and support from many different people,” said Rahadiansyah in an official statement.

Rahadiansyah explained that support for orphans is not only about meeting their basic needs and providing education, but also includes opportunities to gain positive experiences that support their emotional, social and psychological development.

The collaboration with the CT ARSA Foundation on the ‘Sight to Remember’ programme is a manifestation of inter-organisational synergy in demonstrating more tangible care for orphaned children.

This partnership is expected to broaden opportunities for children to enjoy enriching experiences, develop their potential, and grow in a safe and supportive environment.

More than just a one-day event, ‘Sight to Remember’ conveys the message that every child has the right to experience happiness, to have the opportunity to learn, and to gain valuable experiences that can form part of their journey towards a better future.

This initiative is also in line with the commitment of the CT ARSA Foundation and Islamic Relief Indonesia to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Quality Education, through support for children’s learning processes and the development of their potential.

Through ongoing collaboration and compassion, Islamic Relief Indonesia and the CT ARSA Foundation hope that more and more orphans will have the opportunity to grow, thrive and achieve a brighter future. After all, every positive experience provided today can become a cherished memory that fosters hope for tomorrow.
