Japan’s men defend their team title at the Turn World Cup in Rotterdam and secure Olympic tickets like the other medal winners. SWR Japanese gymnasts have secured the gold medal in the team competition at the World Championships in Rotterdam. The defending champions and Paris Olympic champions prevailed on Tuesday in the Netherlands in an exciting competition with 251,928 points. After seven years of World Cup absence, the "neutral" rank of Russian athletes won silver (250,329 points), bronze won China (249,193). The three first-placed teams have already qualified for the Olympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles. The nine other places will be awarded at the World Cup next autumn in Chengdu, China. The decision was delayed by a defective floor. Before the fourth round, when hosts Netherlands and surprise team Colombia were supposed to be gymnasting there, technicians from the manufacturing company had to dismantle a corner area of several square meters to repair the fault in the substructure. In addition, spare parts had to be brought from a warehouse and installed. Only with a delay of about 15 minutes were the Dutch and Colombians able to warm up again and then continue the competition. Previously, only Britain and Japan had died on the ground. German Turners were missing in the final The final took place without German participation. The team of the German Turner Federation (DTB) had only taken the disappointing 15th place in the qualification. 15th place is our current value in the world, there is nothing to gloss over. We left too many points overall, said national coach Jens Milbrandt. On Wednesday (19.30 o’clock live in the video stream on SWR Sport and Sportschau.de) the women are on with their team finale. Here, too, the DTB line-up around Helen Kevric is missing after tenth place in qualifying. The Stuttgart resident has qualified as the only German for the final on the step bars on Saturday (from 3:45 pm live in the video stream on SWR Sport and Sportschau.de). I am very happy and super proud that I made it to the final in my first World Cup. And I am very happy to be able to show my performance again on Saturday
