The Indonesian REPUBLIK.A.Co.ID, JAKARTA - DHL Express added 30 units of Wuling Mitra EV Blind Van Long Range into his operational fleet. This eco-friendly vehicle will be used to support delivery activities in large cities.
The new fleet will be deployed to strengthen the shipping operations of Jakarta, Bandung, Darija, and Surabaya. This strategic move at the same time helps the company suppress carbon emissions from daily logistics.
The addition of this fleet is marked by a ceremonial transfer vehicle at the Indonesian DHL Express facility in Hab, Jakarta. A total of 20 units will operate in Jakarta, eight units in Surabaya, as well as one unit in Bandu and Sariah.
These steps are being made in the midst of increasing trade relations between the countries and increasing the interest of the entrepreneurs on environmental impact. The company continues to adapt to the demands of global markets that are increasingly prioritizing the principle of sustainability.
According to DHL Global Connectedness Report 2026, Indonesia has a strong trade relationship with the number of major economies in Asia and the world. The most prominent relationships are intertwined with China, Singapore and the United States.
Meanwhile, most recent data from DHL Globalization Tracker shows inside- Asian trade continues to grow over time. This positive trend opens up an even greater opportunity for companies in Indonesia to expand access to the regional and global markets.
At the same time, environmental issues became the main concern of business in Indonesia. This consciousness encourages corporations to expand their various green initiatives in operations and supply chains.
An industrial research suggests nearly three quarters of organizations in Indonesia have had a special budget for environmental programs. This fact reflects the size of the company's interest in sustainability issues in business decision-making.
It encouraged logistics services to find a way to suppress emissions from their operational activities. This effort was made without reducing the quality of service given to the customers.
"As global trading networks grow, customers are increasingly expecting a logistics service that is not only operational superior, but is also able to show real progress in the effort to reduce environmental impact. The presence of this electric vehicle helps us reduce emissions from shipping activities as well as strengthen our ability to support customers involved in international trade," said Ahmad Mohamad, Senior Technical Advisor DHL Express Indonesia.
The chairman of the company insists that the commitment to the environment becomes an important part of the long-term strategy of logistics business. These green transformations are executed consistently in various service lines.
"The addition of this fleet is a real step towards building logistical operations with lower emissions in Indonesia, without reducing the speed, reliability, and connectivity of services that customers need," plus Ahmad.
For international logistics companies, land transportation is a major liaison between global networks and local customers. The use of electric vehicles becomes an effective solution to reduce emissions from daily activity.
This innovation also extends the emissions reduction effort to the final stage of the delivery process or last- mile delivery. The company's trying to ensure the entire operational chain runs more eco-friendly.
The placement of electric vehicles is not only done in Jakarta, but also in other cities in the Indonesian DHL Express operations network. This strategy strengthens the readiness of logistical infrastructure in different areas.
This gives the customer more service options, especially when the company is diversifying the supply chain. The chances of business growth are now open outside the main metropolitan area.
Surround and Miscellaneous have been selected for the role of the national logistics and trade center. These areas are judged as strategic for the development of the green transportation ecosystem.
