VEHICLE INFERNO BEFORE JAVA: Passenger ship goes up in flames, large-scale deployment of sea rescuers

Dramatic scenes in front of the Indonesian island of Java: A passenger ferry sets fire shortly before the destination port in the middle of the sea. Dense black clouds of smoke rise as meter-high flames capture the stern of the ship. The ferry had started from Sumatra about two hours earlier. The Indonesian sea rescue immediately initiates a large-scale operation and brings all passengers and the crew to safety within an hour. Even after dark, special ships with water cannons fight against the fire. The cause of the fire is now being investigated by the authorities and the operating company.
