The IHSG Soared 4.16 Per Cent to 5,204 This Afternoon, with 633 Stocks in the Green

The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) rose by 208 points, or 4.16 per cent, at the close of the first trading session on Tuesday (20 October) afternoon.

According to RTI Business data at 12.00 WIB, the IHSG closed the first trading session at 5,204, having reached a high of 5,210 and a low of 4,980.

A total of 633 shares rose, 124 fell, and 41 remained unchanged. Market capitalisation stood at Rp9,176.762 trillion.

Trading volume reached 40.79 billion shares, with a transaction value of Rp17.19 trillion. Trading frequency stood at 1.65 million transactions.

Foreign investors recorded net selling of Rp1.72 trillion. In the regular market, foreign investors recorded net selling of Rp2.28 trillion, whilst in the negotiation and cash markets there was net buying of Rp558.4 billion.

Based on a trading volume of 34.1 billion shares, domestic investors dominated with a 69.92 per cent share, or approximately 23.84 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign investors contributed 30.08 per cent, or approximately 10.25 billion shares.

In terms of transaction value, which totalled Rp25.2 trillion, foreign investors contributed 35.89 per cent, recording purchases of Rp8.2 trillion. Meanwhile, domestic investors contributed 64.11 per cent, recording purchases of Rp17 trillion.

The trading frequency stood at 1,621,799 transactions. Domestic investors dominated with a 74.77 per cent share, whilst foreign investors contributed 25.23 per cent, with 325,971 purchases and 492,259 sales.
