English Send the Saudi War Jet Help Against Houthi · Global Voices

The British will send a number of fighter jets to Saudi Arabia to assist Riyadh against the attack of Yemeni Houthi militia group.

The British Ministry of Defense on Tuesday (20 / 10) states these fighter planes will operate in defensive mode, not launch an attack.

"The British will fly an air defense mission to help protect the city as well as the national infrastructure of an air raid," thus said the Ministry of Defense of England, as quoted Al Jazeera.

The jet that the British are sending is RAF Typhoon. In addition to Typhoon, the British will also send military transport planes to support the movement of planes and personnel in the Middle East.

"The onslaught of the Houthi against our Saudi allies was truly despicable," said Secretary of Defense Wes Streeting.

"The targeting of the airport in Riyadh specifically shows how far the Houthi attempted to improve the situation in the region,"

Saudi airports have been targeted by Houthi since the last few days. One of the attacks hit King Khalid International Airport until he killed 13 people and injured more than 300 others.

The conflict between Houthi and Saudi themselves erupted since July after the attack at Sanaa airport, Yemen. Houthi accused the Saudis behind the attack.

Both sides have been at odds since 2015 when the Saudis intervened in the Yemeni civil war by supporting the Yemeni government.
