Dark Qualcomm Chip Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Heat
Qualcomm denies rumors overheating on Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The company claims there's no problem with systemic temperatures and continues to innovate.
Qualcomm denied rumors that their most advanced chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is experiencing overheated or overheating problems.
The company confirms that reports related to the temperature of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset are inaccurate. The company called his side proud of the innovation and growth of his famous platform flagship.
"The latest report on the temperature problem at Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is inaccurate. We are proud of the innovation and growth of the next generation's flagship platform, and continue to work with global device producers to present a premium experience for users," said the Qualcomm spokesperson to 9to5Google, Saturday (17 / 10).
In a reply on the X platform, CMO Qualcomm Don McGuire also confirmed that there was no systemic temperature issue in the chipset.
According to him, the stamp producers regularly adjust on their platform while launching a new product.
"There's no systematic temperature problem on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The device producers consistently adjust to their platform when launching products," cut Don on Friday (16 / 10).
According to McGuire, that move was done to balance performance and power consumption to optimize the advantages of the product according to the various needs of use.
"They're always trying to balance performance and power consumption to optimize the excellence of the product according to the variety of utilities. We work together to present the best experience for users," it adds up.
The rumor began when Samsung was reported it probably wouldn't use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6's chipsets in his local smartphone flagship later, Galaxy S27 Series. The company is rumored to be considering using its own chypset, which is Exynos 2700.
The report came from Seoul Economic Daily, which suggests that Samsung's Mobile Division was conducting a test of the performance validation of Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreeme Gen 6 to use at Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Based on information from some sources that know the problem, this chipset has repeatedly surpassed the temperature threshold and suffered a rapid decline when handling a long workload of work.
The decline of this overheat performance raises doubts as to the possibility of the use of this chipset at Galaxy S27 Ultra. When the processor works at too high a temperature, the device can handle the throttling, which is the condition when the device lowers its operating speed to protect itself from excessive heat.
These conditions are called it can interfere with the experience of users who play gym for a long time or rely on AI.
For your information, Snapdragon 8 Extreme Gen 6 has a performance that supports Al agents, which is technology that can identify the user's situation through smartphone and run various tasks independently.
On the other hand, Samsung makes the AI feature increase as a primary focus on the next generation of Galaxy Series devices. Therefore, the performance and stability of the Qualcomm processor become the most important thing.
An industrial official mentioned that Samsung had delivered that excessive heat problem to Qualcomm last month and asked for the latest repairs in mid October. However, Qualcomm hasn't managed to reach the temperature stability rate Samsung needs until now.
If Qualcomm is able to meet the required performance rate, Samsung calls will still use Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 as planned.
However, if not, the company is considering running the Exynos as an alternative, assuming performance stability and mass production schedule.
