Watch out for heavy rain Monday. Check out the Wide List
BMKG warns the potential rain is becoming heavy in 12 parts of Indonesia on October 19th. Look at the list and cause of rain in the dry.
A number of areas in Indonesia are potentially watered with a medium intensity today, Monday (19 / 10). Check out the next list.
Meteorology, climatology, and Geophysics issued an early rain warning for October 1820, 2026.
In that warning, BMKG calls the Riau Islands, Bengculu, West Java, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, central Papua, and Papua are potentially downcast to heavy or alert status.
Meanwhile, Aceh, Northern Sumatra, Western Sumatra, and Riau are on high alert with heavy rain potential.
There is no visible area or early warning of strong winds today.
Here's a list of potentially heavy rain areas:
The ongoing drought in most of the Indonesian Season Zone doesn't cover the possibility of heavy rain. atmospheric wave activity and wind meetings can support forming rain clouds in a number of areas in a relatively short period of time.
In the Indonesian Weather Predictation of the 16- 22 October 2026, the BMKG calls Madden- Julian Oscitation (MJO), spatially initiated in part of North Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan.
Meanwhile, the Rossby Equatorial wave was initiated in the Indian Ocean to the west of Sumatra. Kelvin's wave also has the potential to affect some of the Southern Sumatra, the Belitung Bintan, most of all Kalimantan, the southern coast of Java, most of the South Nusa, Maluku, the Northern Maluku, and Papua.
The atmospheric wave activity supports local rain cloud growth. The rainfall has also reinforced patterns and wind-slowing areas of Sumatra, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and Papua.
The meeting of winds helps concentrate the mass of the air, while the temperature of the sea face is relatively warm in the surrounding waters preserving the availability of water vapor in the atmosphere.
"The combination has potentially triggered heavy rain, with heavy intensity, with lightning and strong winds locally," write BMKG in that premise.
On the other hand, about 76 percent of ZOM in Indonesia is still experiencing drought, especially in Java, Bali, Southeast Nusa, and Sulawusi. It's only about 8 percent of ZOM that has entered the monsoon.
The conditions potentially extend meteorological drought in the still miniscule areas of the rain, especially southern Sumatra, Java, Bali, Southeast Nusa, a part of California and Maluku, and South Papua.
Therefore, even though rainfall is generally initiated in low-to-middle categories, significant rain can happen on a daily scale in areas that have regional and local atmospheric dynamics.
