Two Years of the Prabowo-Gibran Administration: Bahlil Praises the Fact That Subsidised Fuel Prices Have Not Risen Amid Global Turmoil

The Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, spoke about the achievements of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration over the past two years. The Coordinating Minister for Downstream Industry and Energy Transition, who is also the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted the fact that fuel prices have not risen despite global turmoil.

Bahlil made these remarks following the commemoration of the Golkar Party’s 62nd anniversary at the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery on Tuesday (20 October 2026). He also expressed his gratitude that the 62nd anniversary of Golkar coincided with the second anniversary of the Prabowo-Gibran administration.

“Yes, alhamdulillah, today marks the second anniversary of the leadership of President Prabowo and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka,” said Bahlil.

Bahlil noted that there are 12 Golkar cadres in the Red and White Cabinet. He stated that Golkar is responsible for implementing the government’s priority programmes.

“First and foremost, Golkar would like to express its appreciation for the collective performance of the government under the leadership of President Prabowo. And naturally, we as Golkar Party members—there are around 12 of us in the Cabinet—feel a shared responsibility to work to the best of our ability to realise all the programmes that have been designated as the President’s priorities,” he said.

He then highlighted the fact that subsidised fuel prices had not risen amidst global turmoil. According to him, this policy was a direct order from Prabowo.

“Among these are, in particular, people-centred programmes, including the decision not to raise fuel prices amidst such significant global turmoil. It is no exaggeration to say that few countries have refrained from raising subsidised fuel prices, and Indonesia is one of them. This is all down to the President’s directive,” he said.

Furthermore, Bahlil also praised the social assistance programmes. He noted that the free nutritious meals programme is also being continuously improved.

“Secondly, there are the people-centred programmes concerning social assistance, followed by nutritious meals, and numerous infrastructure programmes; these are the areas for which Golkar expresses its appreciation. Naturally, as human endeavours, all these programmes are bound to have their shortcomings,” he said.

He stated that the Golkar Party always provides constructive feedback. This is done to ensure better development.

“Golkar always provides constructive feedback in line with the culture and characteristics of the Golkar Party, with a view to contributing to improvements for the future of national development,” he said.
