Two Years of the Prabowo–Gibran Administration: Investment in Indonesia Reaches Rp3,923 T

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Investment realised during the first two years of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka totalled Rp3,923.2 trillion, or 30.1 per cent of the total 2025–2029 target of Rp13,032.8 trillion. This investment realisation over the two-year period has created employment for 5,485,944 Indonesian workers.

“The total investment inflow stands at 3,923.2 trillion. And the number of jobs created is 5,485,944. Java’s contribution was 48.2 per cent, or 1,892.2 trillion, whilst outside Java accounted for 51.8 per cent, or 2,031 trillion,” said the Minister for Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan P. Roeslani, at the State Palace, Tuesday (20 October 2026).

According to the presentation materials, the period under review spans from the fourth quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2026. Rosan explained that the calculation for the two-year administration period begins in the fourth quarter of 2024, not from the start of the year.

“So we are not counting from the start of the year, but from the fourth quarter of 2024,” he said. Consequently, the calculation period covers the fourth quarter of 2024, the full year of 2025, and 2026 up to the third quarter.

Based on regional distribution, investment outside Java reached Rp2,031.0 trillion, or 51.8 per cent of the total. Investment in Java stood at Rp1,892.2 trillion, or 48.2 per cent. By source, domestic investment (PMDN) stood at Rp1,998.7 trillion, or 50.9 per cent, whilst foreign investment (PMA) amounted to Rp1,924.5 trillion, or 49.1 per cent. According to Rosan, the contributions of the two are very closely matched.

Rosan stated that the total investment target set by Bappenas for BKPM to support 8 per cent economic growth by 2029 is Rp13,032.8 trillion for the period 2025–2029.

“And this is the total investment target set by Bappenas for us to achieve 8 per cent growth in 2029. So the total investment expected from 2024 to 2029 – specifically from 2025 to 2029 – is Rp13,032.8 trillion,” he said.
