The four-part biopic series about The Beatles, directed by Sam Mendes, is scheduled for simultaneous release in 2028.
The four films that make up *The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event* will each be told from the perspective of a different member of The Beatles.
“The current plan is for the films to be released in 2028, and we want audiences to be able to enjoy them in cinemas over the same period,” said Pippa Harris, the project’s producer.
According to Harris, as reported by *Variety* on Monday (12 October), whilst she does not expect audiences to be able to watch all four films on the same day, the concept they are proposing is to bring the screenings of this saga closer together.
“So, within the same month – you might watch one film each week, or watch one film on the first weekend, two films on the following weekend, and another one the weekend after that,” said Harris.
“However you choose to watch them, our hope is that people will see all four films.”
The films will star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
Harris said these Beatles films “stand on their own as individual stories of each of the four men, yet possess a collective power which, in my view, is far greater than the mere sum of its parts.”
"In my view, The Beatles are the greatest band in history, and we’re doing our very best to pay them the tribute they deserve; that’s why four films have been made. I don’t think there’s any other band that can legitimately be said to deserve four films about them."
In March 2025, director Sam Mendes officially announced the biographical film project titled *The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event*.
*Variety* reports that Sam Mendes aims to capture the extraordinary journey of the Fab Four from Liverpool to America. This means four standalone feature films and one of the biggest ventures in the history of cinema.
“Everyone has their own story, but together they are legendary,” reads the project’s tagline. “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be the first marathon viewing experience in cinemas.”
