The Bri is ready for the Buyback Stock. It's a Perservative Strategy
BRI is ready to do a stock buyback to maintain company value and optimize the stock holders value, along with OJK policy until December 2026.
The Indonesian Public Bank (brasero) Tbk or BRI expressed the readiness to participate in the repurchase of stock (buyback). The plan is in line with the presentation strategy to maintain the value of the company and optimize the value of the shareholders.
Corporation Secretary BRI Dhanny relayed the buyback's plan to reflect on the fundamental and long-term business prospects.
"Linked to the plan of a stock buyback, the Corporation's Secretary BRI Dhanny is ready to participate. The plan at the same time reflects the fundamental belief of the BRI and the long-term business prospects of the company, by staying ahead of the capital, of caution, of the application of a good company and being carried out in accordance terms," Dhanny is quoted Tuesday (20 / 10 / 2026).
The buyback plan became part of a presentation strategy in maintaining corporate value and optimizing the value for shareholders.
This BRI readiness appeared in the midst of financial Authority (OJK) policy which extended the buyback stock relaxation without the approval of the General Shareholders' Meeting (RUPS) until December 31, 2026.
It gives the company an open space to do the paybacks without first getting the RUPS approval during fulfilling the terms that apply in the midst of significant market conditions.
In a press release of the Grand Commissioner's Meeting of September 2026, OJK declared a buyback policy without extended RUPS until the end of the year. This policy becomes one of those instruments that emitable in response to market conditions.
Earlier, BRI announced a stock buyback plan with a maximum of Rp 500 billion for the June 12th period to September 11, 2026. In the process, BRI rebuys about 31 million shares with value around Rp 90.37 billion, or equal 18.1% of the maximum allocation the company has prepared.
The period of the buyback has ended in September 2026. Therefore, the next participation plan needs to be seen based on the openness of official information, including about the value of funds and the execution schedule when set.
On the other hand, the CEO of Danbara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani previously highlighted investment opportunities in the stock market in the midst of correcting stock prices. He assessed that correction could be a momentum for investors to enter the capital market by considering the fundamental companies.
"The evaluation is very low at this point, because of the correction," Rosan said in the Indonesian Exchange Building, Jakarta, Friday (16 / 10).
Nevertheless, Rosan's statement is related to the possibility of investment in the general capital market and not a special announcement about Bri's buyback plan.
Buybacks are still necessary to consider the financial, financial, capitalized, careful, and valid terms. BRI expressed readiness to participate by keeping an eye on those aspects.
