Federal government speaks of investment pledges in the billions

The investment summit in Berlin is intended to attract more capital to Germany. Chancellor Merz and Minister of Economic Affairs Reiche already speak of initial commitments: companies are said to have announced multi-billion-dollar investments. According to Chancellor Friedrich Merz, there are billions in investment pledges in the German economy. At the "Invest in Germany" conference, the Chancellor spoke of pledges totalling 800 billion euros by 2028, which are to flow from several companies to German business locations. Federal Economic Affairs Minister Katherina Reiche also spoke of investment commitments in the billions. In Deutschlandfunk, she emphasized that there were promises of 228 billion euros. This sum includes only projects with a volume of more than 100 million euros. In which time frame and in which context the promises are exactly, remained initially open. Amazon already announced concrete investments at the summit. The US company intends to invest around 16 billion euros in Germany next year. Among other things, the money will go to the expansion of data centers for cloud provider AWS and the modernization of logistics sites. Merz used the summit in Berlin to highlight the strengths of Germany as a location. The Chancellor took clichés to help: "Germans are considered hardworking, go to sleep early and get up before sunrise." Occupational traffic is strongest between 6 and 7 o’clock in the morning. "On holiday we are the first on the beach and put out our towels before breakfast." And if we agree on delivery dates, we also comply with them. Germans are reliable, predictable, precise and good for no surprises, said Merz. “In short, we are exactly what investors value the most.” The good thing about clichés is that they are often full of truth. Germany also offers investors a unique combination of industrial excellence, technological innovation and access to one of the world’s largest domestic markets. Approximately 200 business leaders on site The summit had begun on Monday evening. Approximately 200 heads of companies from home and abroad have travelled. At the start, the Federal Government announced a partnership with the company Nvidia.
