A mother in the US told me about the stomach acid complaints she had when she was pregnant. Apparently the complaint was a symptom of colon cancer.
Geraldine Levano wasn't really worried about stomach acid during her second son's pregnancy. But his condition worsened at a point where he couldn't bear the pain.
As a medical assistant, he asked his colleagues about the stomach acid complaint.
"Of course they said.... it's natural to be pregnant, no problem," said Levano as quoted from Today.
The same answer he found when he checked into the hospital. The medical examiner assured me that the pain she suffered was natural during the pregnancy.
Not even the drug consumption was able to relieve the sensation of such a painful burn. Besides, Levano also felt a sensation like something was stuck in his stomach.
Levano survived until early April 2022 or two weeks after delivery, he felt a painful lump under the left rib. Pun complaints of stomach acid continue.
The pain is getting worse. Levano remembers himself not being able to walk let alone hold a baby. The ultrasound check was performed and showed a surprising result.
"You have cancer. We just need to figure out where it is,
After CT scan, the cancer was in a large intestine of eight centimeters and almost clogged its colon. Cancer also pressed Levano's stomach so that explains why he complained of stomach acid reflux.
"The mob was actually pushing the hull from the back. The food he consumed was not digested properly, so the stomach acid rose back up," clearly Amit Agarwal, a professor and a cholorectal surgeon and a doctor who handled Levano.
When checked back, there were actually some symptoms that led to colon cancer and not gutted Levano. He was in a state of nausea. In addition to that constipation and anemia are often regarded as the impact of pregnancy.
Levano had cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Just in August 2023, he rang the bell a sign of a period of cancer treatment ended.
"I will never question God's will, and I am so grateful to still be here," the tour.
