Iran: Espionage Judgments Charge Relationship – Ambassador Appointed

First Berlin summoned the Iranian ambassador, now Tehran is responding and appointing the German and EU ambassadors. The background is convictions for espionage for Iran.

Iran: Espionage Judgments Charge Relationship – Ambassador Appointed

In the dispute with Germany, Iran has summoned the German Ambassador Axel Dittmann. Tehran’s protest against the “contemptuous attitude of certain German officials” should be transmitted to him, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reported, citing a foreign ministry representative.

Director General Aliresa Jussefi says the allegations against Iran are an attempt to disguise German support for the US and Israeli war against the country. A few hours earlier, the Federal Foreign Office summoned the Iranian Ambassador.

The reason for this was the sentences against two men who, according to the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg, were working on behalf of the Iranian intelligence service. The court sentenced a 54-year-old to eight and a 43-year-old to four and a half years in prison.

The two men living in Denmark are said to have spied on the President of the Central Council of Jews, Josef Schuster, and the President of the German-Israeli Society, Volker Beck. It was also about an attempted involvement in murder and serious arson.

Iran also appoints the EU Ambassador to Tehran, Irish Aidan Cronin, according to state media. With this, the government wanted to protest against a series of “groundless” accusations.

Jussefi blamed the EU for the tense situation in West Asia and the Persian Gulf. The situation is the result of an “irresponsible policy” of the European Union. Ireland currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

These conditions include depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In January last year, famous actress Zhao Lusi’s suspension of work due to severe depression put celebrities’ mental health...

Chinese air force reveals Y-20B tanker-transport variant in official training image

China’s military has published what appears to be the first official photograph of a Y-20B heavy transport aircraft in PLA Air Force livery fitted with aerial refuelling pods, suggesting that the multi-role tanker-transport (MRTT) configuration has entered service. An image published by the PLA Daily newspaper on October 14 shows the four-engine aircraft painted in standard military grey, with refuelling pods beneath its wings and its rear cargo ramp open as a truck carrying equipment is behind...

Argentina awaits the Supreme Court after the YPF case is closed at first instance

New York federal judge Loretta Preska has vacated her 2023 judgment ordering Argentina to pay more than US$16 billion over the expropriation of oil company YPF and formally closed the case at first instance. Its future now depends on whether the US Supreme Court agrees to review it, as litigation funder Burford Capital requested in early October.
