Kevin Dorow: Prosecutor accuses AfD politicians of Nazi slogans

The public prosecutor’s office Giessen has filed charges against the Schleswig-Holstein AfD politician Kevin Dorow. The 28-year-old is accused at the founding meeting of the AfD youth organization “Generation Germany” on the 29th. In November 2025, he used a slogan that is considered to be the hallmark of a former National Socialist organization.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, Dorov is said to have expressed the sentence “Youth must be guided by youth” towards the end of his candidacy speech for a board position.

About 800 people attended the meeting in Giessen. Dorov's speech was broadcast in the hall, streamed live on the Internet and later published on an Internet platform.

The investigating authority evaluates the statement as a propaganda slogan of the Hitler Youth, which was generally known during the Nazi period. It was quoted several times by Adolf Hitler and Baldur von Schirach. The charge is based on Section 86a of the Penal Code, which criminalizes the use of marks of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.

Dorov rejects criticism of the slogan. The AfD politician had declared after becoming known of his statement that the phrase came from the migratory bird movement and thus from a time before National Socialism. The Hitler Youth did not exist at that time. He therefore sees no reason to distance himself from the statement, as it is not reprehensible in content.

With the indictment, it has not yet been decided whether Dorov must answer in court. First, the district court of Gießen must decide whether it allows the charge and opens the main proceedings.

Dates for a possible trial have not yet been determined, according to the public prosecutor. Until a final conviction, the presumption of innocence shall apply to the accused.
