La Liga Showcases Emil Audero’s ‘Crazy’ Save, Indonesian Flag Flies High

Emil Audero’s brilliant performance in the Getafe v Rayo Vallecano match has been in the spotlight. La Liga’s social media accounts even highlighted one of the goalkeeper’s crucial saves.

Emil Audero played the full 90 minutes as Rayo Vallecano drew 1–1 with the hosts in their La Liga fixture at the Coliseum Stadium on Tuesday (20 October) in the early hours of the morning WIB.

Overall, the Indonesia international goalkeeper performed well throughout the 90 minutes, despite conceding one goal.

La Liga’s Instagram account did not hesitate to share a short video of Audero’s fantastic save. An Indonesian flag was even displayed next to Audero’s name.

That fantastic moment occurred in the first half, specifically in the 40th minute. At that moment, Enes Unal managed to meet a cross inside the penalty area with a dangerous header.

However, Audero reacted quickly, parrying the ball away with his right hand. The ball struck the post before Audero cleared it with both feet to prevent the opposition from capitalising on the rebound.

Thanks to that save, Getafe failed to equalise despite playing with 10 men. Rayo Vallecano remained 1–0 ahead until the end of the first half, before the home side finally managed to level the score in the 56th minute.

Overall, Emil’s performance received a fairly good rating. Sofascore awarded Audero a score of 7.1.

This score placed Emil Audero among the top three players with the highest ratings at Rayo Vallecano. He was only surpassed by Florian Lejeune (8.3) and Unai López (7.7).

Audero’s impressive form at the start of the season continues to attract attention. He has also secured the position of first-choice goalkeeper since joining Rayo Vallecano on loan from Como.
