The World Food Programme) United Nations cut food support for about 500,000 citizens on Gaza Strip.

This trimming allows the number of citizens who received help down from 1.6 million to 1.1 million people, in the midst of the nuptial food threat.

In a statement on Monday (19 / 10), WFP says the budget reduction also forces the agency to cut food rations for those who are still receiving help. Each family now gets one food package, from the previous two packages, and one tiny bag of wheat flour.

WFP also reduces the amount of ready food shared daily. It went down from 250 grand to 150 thousand portions.

Meanwhile, the families who were living in an area that was difficult to reach, including the area near the "yellow line" controlled by the Israeli military, are now receiving food every two days. Before, they get food help every day.

In addition to food aid, the WFP shortened cash aid value for 75 thousand families, reporting Anadolu Agency.

WFP warns that the relief reduction occurs when most of Gaza's citizens are still having trouble getting enough food and nourishment.

The agency estimates that about 1.4 million people or 67 percent of Gaza's population are experiencing a food-related crisis rate or worse. Of those, about 200 thousand people are in an emergency and need food support immediately to prevent death from starvation.

The condition of the children also concerns. According to WFP, only one in five children in Gaza consume food with enough nutritional diversity.

Meanwhile, the height of unemployment over 80 percent has worsened things. Many families don't have enough money to buy nutritious food.

WFP says repairing food after a ceasefire in October 2025 is still "fragile." The agency is warning that conditions can return rapidly if humanitarian aid continues to decrease.

The funding crisis also affects the occupied WFP operations on the West Bank. The number of relief recipients in the region was cut in half, from 400 thousand to 200,000 people.

To maintain vital aid operations in Gaza and the West Bank over the next six months until March 2027, WFP claims it requires US $450 million or about Rp8.11 trillion.
