The Korsel Army Suspensions the Governor Leaving for Lizard Fit · Global Voices

A South Korean soldier was suspended from a state of suspended duty for wanting to feed a lizard.

The Korean Herald reported the second lieutenant's army suspended for two months because it repeatedly left his post without permission. Total he left work for 64 times a week in 10 months.

A gate commander testified that the lieutenant left his post in order to feed his lizard and wash his car.

Busan District Court on 15th October confirmed the suspension of this suspension because the lieutenant proved to have committed a number of other offenses, including abusing the soldiers under it verbally and delaying their request for leave.

During October 2023 and November 2024, the lieutenant was recorded delaying approval of 698 request for recreation, staying overnight, and leave filed by 26 soldiers.

This delay led to the failure of the army to get a special military train ticket and had to use their personal money.

According to the court records, the lieutenant was also verbally attacked by a soldier who requested reassignment from back pain. He was when it suggested that the soldier file a mental discharge.

In addition, the lieutenant is also called to postpone a promotion of some soldiers for being late for a private interview with them.

"Under the rules of military discipline, the severity of infringement may lead to dismissal, while several offenses may lead to expulsion," such is the court's statement.
