Tito reveals Karhutla's reasons in Borneo and Sumatra
Minister of the Interior Tito Karnavian revealed its own land to become an obstacle to the fires and land in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
Minister of the Interior Tito Carnavian revealed a number of difficulties in the handling of forest and land fires that are still happening on Kalimantan and Sumatra Island.
According to Tito, those two regions, especially in the Eastern Sumatra, are blessed to have the land of the living. But, on the other hand, that kind of land also has a negative impact on the burn.
"Well, when it's burned, this landmark is different from the fire in the mineral land," Tito said after a joint meeting of carhutla at the Office of the Ministry of Politics and Security, Jakarta, Monday (19 / 10).
On the land of greed, fire will keep fire longer in the ground. This condition is different from the case in mineral land.
For that, according to Tito, one of the most effective ways is to put a lot of water into the ground. There are at least two ways Tito can tell us, first, through rain, both naturally and weather modification.
"As former Chief of Police, this first must be no water from the air, it's for the rain. There were two rains, natural rain and artificial rain, cloud seeding, weather modification," he said.
The second way is to put water in the ground through water sources, like rivers, reservoirs or lakes. He said weather modifications are hard to do if there's no cloud seeds.
Meanwhile, to manually insert water into the ground through a water source is also difficult to do if the source is far or dry. On that basis, the way the government is able to do it today is chemical engineering or chemical subsidies.
Tito revealed this way when it was already done at some point of fire in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
"I saw the Southern Sumatera, with that material, with a smaller amount of water, which is fewer, he was able to cool down and sieve the land of stardom," he began.
Regardless, Tito claimed to be grateful for the weather modification effort in Kalimantan, especially in the Paleque was a success. However, again, as she goes, weather modifications must still be done through cloud seeds.
"Special in Borneo we know that weather modifications are done so it rains.
Forest fires and land still occur at least six provinces, like Riau, Jambi, South Sumatera, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan. On the official brochure page of the National Catastrophe (BNPB), a vast number burns in the six provinces over the last 24 hours for 1,308.03 hectares and the area that will be extinguished 650,19 hectares.
As for the hot spot or hotspot per day, it's at 5,499 points, whereas the point of fire or fire spot is 247 points. There are 53,848 combined personnel deployed in handling the carhutla.
