Not all people use the train every day. The transport ministers of the states now also want to introduce a valid ticket for occasional drivers throughout Germany. The transport ministers of the states want to create a nationwide ticket offer for occasional drivers in public transport. It is about an offer "for casual users with Germany-wide geographic validity analogous to the Deutschlandticket", the Düsseldorfer Rheinische Post quoted from a draft decision for the Transport Ministers Conference starting on Wednesday. According to the report, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hamburg have submitted the proposal: They have a smartphone-based "in/out tariff" in mind: passengers check in and out by mobile phone. “Anyone who only occasionally travels by bus and train must be able to travel just as easily and at fair conditions as the frequent drivers with the Deutschlandticket,” said NRW Transport Minister Oliver Krischer (Green Party). His federal state should therefore develop the concrete design. With the offer "eezy.nrw" North Rhine-Westphalia has already shown how it works, said Krischer. "The digital tariff always selects the cheapest price per route." In addition, the monthly amount is capped, so it will never be more expensive than with a Germany ticket. This currently costs 63 euros a month, in January the price rises to 66.80 euros. The transport ministers of the countries meet on Wednesday and Thursday in the Bavarian city of Schwangau.
