Best 10 cities for those of you who planned your first time abroad

Two cities in Portugal, Porto and Lisbon share first place on the world's best city list for budding tourists based on the research of the BC Game's digital entertainment platform in September 2026.

The study analysed 40 major cities based on some indicators, such as security levels, the ability of the English-speaking population, the rate of community hospitality, the price of hotels per night, the number of historic landmarks, the speed of walking, and the average food at local restaurants.

Travelling and Leisure, Porto and Lisbon are known to have friendly citizens and number five worlds in hospitality. Even so, Porto offered a more affordable accommodation fee.

According to the research, the hotel fare in Porto is at US $105 or about Rp1.7 million per night. Meanwhile, the Lisbon hotel is average at US $135 or about Rp2.2 million per night. Lisbon also has nearly 200 landmarks that can be reached on foot.

Prague, Czech capital, takes second place. This town has an historic pedestrian area and over 200 landmarks. Prague also scored a security score 75 out of 100, at US $107 or about Rp1.75 million per night.

Meanwhile, Seoul in South Korea is third place and is the choice for tourists with limited budget. Standard hotel rates can start at US $65 or around Rp1.06 million per night.

Food options in restaurants that serve a complete dish can be found from US $8 or about Rp130 thousand. Seoul also scored 94 out of 100 for walking ease, with a public transport rate of about US $1.30 or Rp21 thousand per trip.

In addition to those four cities, this list includes destinations in Finland, Japan, Spain, Hungary and Austria.
