AirNav Assign RI Flight Navigation Enforcement Committee
AirNav Indonesia strengthens national flight navigation service with modernization systems and personnel competence development.
Attack, CNBC Indonesia - coincided with the warning of World Air Traffic Day, Tuesday (20 / 10 / 2026), Indonesian AirNav confirmed the commitment to reinforcing national flight navigation services. The commitment was created through modernization of the system in four service centers, reinforcing operational facilities, and development of personnel competence.
Main Director of Air Nav Indonesia Capt. Avirianto Suratno says, the development is directed to support safety, reliability, and service efficiency, as well as reinforcing support for air traffic guides or air traffic controllers.
"It was a commitment that we created through the renewal of systems and facilities, strengthening personnel skills, and the development of operational procedures. Air traffic guide must be supported with reliable tools and enough information to make the right decision," Avirianto says, "Tuesday (20 / 10 / 2026).
He explained, AirNav has operated air traffic management systems or air traffic management management systems, the latest generation in Jakarta, the Pontiburi, and the Ballikboard. His operation took place gradually from November 2025 to the application at the New Jakarta Air Traffic Services Center on June 16, 2026. The modernization strengthens the flight control facilities when the plane is in the cruising phase or approaching the airport. This system includes flight sequence and departure settings, air traffic flow management, aeronautics information, flight message exchange, as well as sound communication.
The integration of devices and information supports ATC in managing aircraft movements as well as co-ordinating. The arrival and departure device helps plan the service sequence, while air traffic flow management helps align the number of flights with service capacity.
"Our focus is to ensure the development of the facility answers operational needs. The device update must run along personnel readiness and procedure, so it can be used optimal in daily services," said Avirianto.
In terms of service development, AirNav implemented Free Route Operations (FRTO), which allowed the airline to plan the trajectory more efficiently based on weather conditions and operational needs. The application is gradually performed through trials, safety risk assessment, as well as coordinating with related regulator and service units.
In 2025, a total of 5.030 flights used the FRTO in the Jakarta flight service area and the Pending End, increased 82 percent than 2,770 flights in 2024. According to AirNa@@
The FRTO application experience in the archipelago region was thrown the director of Operation AirNav Indonesia Setio Orkoro as a Panelis in the ICAO Air Navigation World- Air Traffic Flow Management office in ICAO, Montreal, Canada, on 59 October 2026. The exposure includes the application stage and support of the automation system, procedure, and the ATC competence to handle more dynamic flight traffic patterns.
To strengthen the personnel and organization's capabilities, AirNav also teamed up with the Australian Airservers through Indonesia Transport Safety Assistant Package. The workshops that were closed on July 3rd, 2026 include labor planning, standard air traffic management, data management, flight surveillance data processing, and program management.
Through ITSAP Senior Engagment, the leaders of both organizations discussed safety, modernization of services, digital transformation, as well as development of human resources. A visit to the Australian operational facility became part of an exchange of knowledge about applied technology and service management.
On the regional level, AirNav is hosting the premiere of the ICAO APAC Project 30 / 10 Task Force under attack on June 16- 18, 2026. The meeting followed 61 delegates from 18 countries and international organization representatives.
Setio Orkoro, as head of task force, leads the discussion of regional implementation mechanisms to optimize the distance between planes. Distribution includes the readiness of technology, operational procedures, and cross-country coordination in order for air space use to be more efficient by still fulfilling the safety requirements.
Avirianto insists that international cooperation becomes a means of strengthening corporate capabilities and harmonizing service development across borders. Indonesian operational experience is subject to discussion with other state navigational navigation. On the anniversary of the World's ATC Day, he expressed appreciation to all the guides for their professionalism in serving the flight.
"ATC professionals must be followed by real company support. We will continue to direct the development of the system, the facilities, and the competence of the services so that the personnel can work better, coordination becomes more effective, as well as the safety and efficiency of the flight remain awake," pick it up.
