Alternative trains: In battery operation through the country

Diesel trains should disappear from the tracks by 2040. More and more battery trains are already running. This is also good for passengers.

The word “burner-off” could become the word of the year in 2026. Everyone thinks about cars. The EU bans the sale of new cars with petrol or diesel engines by 2035. Some countries, including Germany, are fiercely struggling to abolish the ban in order to save their car industry. It is hardly known, however: Deutsche Bahn has also decided to phase out combustion engines. Voluntary and not only for new vehicles, but for all vehicles. But only from 2040. Then the last diesel trains should disappear and be replaced by emission-free trains.
