Can Merz also use irony? Chancellor jokes at investment summit

At the investment summit in Berlin, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) began his speech on Tuesday with irony and German clichés: “Germans are considered hardworking, go to sleep early and get up before sunrise,” he said. Occupational traffic is strongest between 6 and 7 o’clock in the morning. "On holiday we are the first on the beach and put out our towels before breakfast." And if we agree on delivery dates, we also comply with them. With the first investment summit, which began the evening before, the German government wants more private investors.

Although the social structure of France is clearly different from Germany, the police must remain vigilant here too. Reports of attacks on Jewish businesses Beck differentiated: According to his information, entire streets were affected. At the same time, he points to Palestinian flags and Kufiyas in the protests and warns of possible anti-Semitic violence.
