The Galaxy Watch9 and Ultra2 Can Monitor Heart Health – Here’s How
The Galaxy Watch9 and Ultra2 come with a Heart Health Score to monitor heart health. Find out how it works, its key features and its price in Indonesia.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 help users gain a more personalised understanding of their heart health through the Heart Health Score feature in Samsung Health. This feature summarises a range of indicators, from sleep patterns and physical activity to vascular load and body mass index (BMI).
With this information, users can identify habits that need improving without having to analyse various health data separately.
This approach aligns with Samsung’s vision, ‘Rest and Do the Rest’, which encourages users to be more proactive in looking after their health by understanding their body’s condition.
The Heart Health Score is designed to provide an overview of habits related to heart health based on four key indicators.
Firstly, the 7-day Sleep Time Average, which is the average duration of sleep over the last seven days to help users understand the consistency of their rest periods.
Secondly, the ‘7-day Moderate to Vigorous Activity’, which records moderate to high-intensity physical activity over the course of a week, such as brisk walking, cycling or running.
Thirdly, ‘Vascular Load’, an indicator that describes the strain on the circulatory system compared to the user’s baseline condition.
Fourthly, Body Mass Index (BMI), which indicates the relationship between weight and height.
Through a combination of these indicators, Samsung Health helps users understand their health patterns whilst providing insights to build healthier habits.
Interestingly, the Heart Health Score does not merely display a daily figure. Samsung Health also provides a seven-day trend graph.
This allows users to see how their score changes over time, rather than focusing solely on a single day’s result.
For example, someone who exercises regularly but often lacks sleep can compare these two indicators to evaluate their habits.
This approach helps users understand the importance of consistency in physical activity and rest periods.
One key indicator is Vascular Load, which shows changes in vascular load relative to the user’s baseline or reference condition.
Samsung Health includes an explanation to help users understand changes in this indicator.
Meanwhile, users can measure their body composition using the Body Composition feature on the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2.
To do this, open Body Composition on the smartwatch, then place two fingers on the side button as instructed on the screen for approximately 30 seconds.
The measurement results help to supplement the body composition information available in Samsung Health.
Please note that the Heart Health Score and Vascular Load are health monitoring features, not tools for diagnosing heart disease. The availability of these features may also depend on region and software.
Through the Heart Health Score, the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 do more than simply track activity or heart rate; they help users understand the relationship between sleep, exercise and physical condition.
This information can serve as a reminder to improve sleep patterns, be more physically active and maintain healthy habits consistently.
For those interested, the Samsung Galaxy Watch9 is available in Indonesia with prices starting from Rp5,999,000, whilst the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is priced at Rp10,499,000.
With these various health monitoring features, both smartwatches can serve as companions in building a healthier and more measured lifestyle.
