Gen. Z chooses no bath, is the body's natural scent even more interesting?

Gen. Z chooses no bath, is the body's natural scent even more interesting?

Almost everybody took a shower. The goal is simple, to keep the body fresh, clean, and not smelly.

But, some of the young people on social media are doing the opposite thing: accidentally not taking a shower to draw attention to the future couple.

To quote the New York Post, the trend known as pheromone-maxing is widely spoken of in Tickook. His followers believed, the natural scent of the body, including sweat, could make men more attractive in the eyes of women.

Therefore, they reduce body hygiene habits, from skipping baths to not using deodorant and perfume. In fact, some people do extreme things, like wear unwashed clothes or drink urine on their own to get poison out of the body.

Pheromone-maxing is a trend of social media that goes from assuming that the natural scent of a male's body can increase sexual attraction. His followers believe that the stronger the body's natural scent, the greater their chances of attracting women.

This trend deals with the looksmaxing community, which is a movement on social media that encourages various ways to maximize physical appearance to look more interesting. The way it's done differently, from treating looks to extreme methods that are risky for health.

Instead, in pheromone-maxying, his focus is no longer in physical appearance, but in body odor.

While it's crowded, this trend is not meant to be followed by the majority of Zs.

Behind these trends, there is one term which is the basis of their belief, which is pheromones.

Feromones are a chemical compound that is released by an organism and can affect the response or any other organism's behavior from the same species. The role of pheromones has been studied a lot in animals and insects.

In humans, body scents are also known to affect other people's responses. The smell of human bodies and secretions potentially affect both physiological and psychological response.

One of the compounds ever examined was androstadienone, which was found in the sweat of men. This compound is suspected of potentially affecting one's response to another.

So, the smell of the body may play a role in the way someone responds to someone else. However, it does not mean that the smell of bodies being left without a bath or automatic deodorant makes someone more attractive.

One of the studies that's often discussed in the study about body scents and interests is an experiment known as "sweaty T-shirt study" in 1995.

In the study, a number of men were asked to wear the same T-shirt for two nights in a row. After that, female participants were asked to kiss and assess the scent of the six shirts that had been used.

As a result, women tend to rate the smell of men's bodies with the major gene histocompatibility complex (MHC) which is different from their own genes as more fun. MHC is an important group of genes in the immune system.

It also raises the notion that certain genes' differences may be related to the human preference for the smell of the future mate's body.
