Iran: Federal Foreign Office appoints Ambassador

They should kill the President of the Central Council of Jews and a politician: After the conviction of two spies of Iran, the Federal Foreign Ministry is determined to take action against anti-Semitic attacks.

Iran: Federal Foreign Office appoints Ambassador

The Federal Foreign Office has summoned the Iranian Ambassador following the conviction of two men for intelligence work on behalf of Iran and attempted involvement in murder and serious arson. We strongly condemn Iran’s activities. We will not allow Iran to threaten our liberal society, the foreign ministry told X.

Last week, the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg sentenced a 54-year-old man to eight and a half years in prison and a 43-year-old to four and a half years in prison. The judges saw it as proven that the two men living in Denmark had scouted the President of the Central Council of Jews, Josef Schuster, and the President of the German-Israeli Society, Volker Beck.

According to the court, these actions were used to prepare for state terrorist attacks, specifically an assassination attempt on Beck. The 54-year-old received his orders directly from officers of the so-called Quds Brigade, the foreign unit of the Revolutionary Guards. In addition, this man had made preparations for an arson attack on a kosher food trade in Berlin.

“We do not tolerate attacks on Jewish life and on those who defend it – nowhere, especially not in Germany,” the Foreign Office wrote on X. The vicious attacks against Schuster and Beck would have legal consequences. “Already before, we have worked to ensure that the masterminds of Iranian attacks worldwide and oppressors of the Iranian civilian population, the Revolutionary Guards, are finally listed in the EU.” With success.

The former Green politician Beck had followed the verdict himself in court. Read more about the process and the investigation here.
