iPhone Duo Battery Capacity Revealed – How Big Is It?

The battery capacity of the iPhone Duo has been revealed. Apple’s first foldable has a smaller battery than the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

iPhone Duo Battery Capacity Revealed – How Big Is It?

Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone Duo at the end of last week, and it will be available from 20 October. Ahead of its launch, the storage capacity and battery life of this foldable phone have been revealed.

According to information in the European Union’s energy labelling database (EPREL), the iPhone Duo features a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 4,883 mAh. The battery is split into two sections, one with a capacity of 2,962 mAh and the other with a capacity of 1,921 mAh.

Apple never discloses the specific battery capacities of its devices, so this data is usually obtained from third-party sources. On its official website, Apple only states that the iPhone Duo’s battery life allows for up to 40 hours of video playback on the external screen, and up to 31 hours on the main screen.

The iPhone Duo’s battery capacity is quite substantial for a foldable device. The iPhone Duo’s battery is slightly larger than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which features a 4,800 mAh battery.

However, the iPhone Duo’s battery capacity lags far behind that of wide-screen foldable phones from Chinese brands. The Xiaomi 18 Fold, for example, has a 6,000 mAh battery, whilst the Huawei Pura X Max has a 5,300 mAh battery.

When compared to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the iPhone Duo’s battery capacity sits right in the middle. The iPhone 18 Pro features a 4,288 mAh battery, whilst the iPhone 18 Pro Max is equipped with a 5,567 mAh battery (for the eSIM version).

As the iPhone Duo is only available in an eSIM version on the global market, its battery capacity is likely to be the same across all countries. This is unlike the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, where the eSIM versions have a larger battery capacity than the physical SIM versions.

Furthermore, the iPhone Duo’s battery is also recorded as supporting 1,000 charge cycles. This means the battery can undergo 1,000 charge cycles before its capacity drops to 80 per cent.

The EPREL database also reveals that the iPhone Duo’s battery offers up to 51 hours and 30 minutes of runtime per charging cycle. With 1,000 charging cycles, the iPhone Duo’s battery is likely to last around 51,500 hours before its capacity drops to 80 per cent.
