Kim Jong Un's words on the show after the exhibition were rumored to be dead

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, appeared publicly by visiting the 2026 National Leg Exposition at Pyongyang on Monday (19 / 10).

Kim Jong Un's appearance occurred after rumors were released on social media that he claimed to be dead due to brain hemorrhage, despite the unverified rumors.

The Korean Central News Office (KCNA) reported Kim visiting the exhibition to see the development of the North Korean light industry. In that visit, Kim expressed his satisfaction with products that are displayed because of his "rapid and substantial development."

The photos released by the government media show that Kim was accompanied by his wife, Ri Sol Ju, and her daughter, Kim Ju Ae.

The KCNA reports the expo featuring over 70.700 clothing products from over 30 types. In addition, there are over 170,000 pairs of shoes from over 60 different types produced by light industrial factories all over North Korea.

Kim assessed the products to show the success of regional development policies being one of his top programs.

"This is a clear demonstration of the validity and vitality of the Party's policy that aims to eliminate the difference between central and rural areas and between urban and rural areas and reach its same and balanced development across the country," said Kim, as KCNA quoted, Tuesday (20 / 10).

In 2024, Kim launched a regional development policy targeting the development of modern factories in 20 cities and districts every year for 10 years, reporting Korea's Joong Ang Daily.

Earlier, a social media user at X, Xie, spread rumors about Kim's death.

"According to rumors, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un suddenly suffered brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma. Since the North Korean medical facilities were left behind and were unable to provide immediate help, the country was forced to request Chinese assistance. Beijing Concord Hospital immediately sent a medical team to North Korea to help rescue Kim Jong Un," said Xie, Monday (19 / 10).

In the upload, Xie also claims Kim's sister, Kim Yo Jong, has taken control of the government. Moreover, he called about 9,000 Chinese soldiers to be sent to Pyongyang in the midst of worrying about the succession of North Korean leadership.

However, the entire claim has not been verified. There's no official confirmation that Kim passed away, Kim Yo Jong took over, or the Chinese army deployed to North Korea.

Instead, South Korean news office, Yonhap, released photos that show Kim attending an industrial exhibition in Pyongyang with his daughter on Monday (19 / 10).
