UN Security Guterres Ngaku Pudau with the Indonesian Batik
The UN Secretary Guterres called the heritage of a healthy ancestor reflecting true Indonesian cultural wealth.
Secretary General of the United Nations (United Nations) Antonio Guterres claimed to be impressed with the Indonesian batics.
He called the heritage of the nation's heritage a true Indonesian cultural wealth.
"In Indonesia, cultural wealth is more than just a metaphor. It was reflected in a unique art form, the Indonesian batic. It's no surprise that UNESCO sets the Indonesian batic as a legacy of non-human culture," said the Guterres at the Foreign Police Circle Talks held the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Monday (19 / 10).
Guterres said that the batics were a tradition formed by many influences, with patterns that reflect cultural encounters, starting from Arabia, China, Japan, South Asia, to Europe.
"Through these meetings, the batik remains closely intertwined with its own Indonesian cultural identity. There's a lesson here for multilateralism," said he.
On that occasion, Guterres also praised Indonesia by calling it the pillar of multilateralism.
Guterres said he recognized Indonesian leadership in helping to connect and strengthen the relationship of the UN, a partnership that includes peace and security, development and human rights.
"Indonesia is a recognized and respected diplomatic bridge builder at the United Nations and outside the United Nations," the tour.
On that occasion, the UN Secretary who will retire in December 2026 also thanked Indonesian continued participation in the UN peacekeepers.
It says there are currently about 2,000 peacekeepers from Indonesia who are both male and female.
"And I want to thank Indonesia for hosting the United Nations Peace Minister's Meeting next year in Jakarta. Today I am very impressed with my visit to the peace guard training center that gives us the assurance that the Indonesian peacekeepers will be the fundamental pillar of the mission peacekeepers around the world," he said.
